How to Add a Customer and Create an Order for a Customer

This article walks you through how to add a customer and create an order in Penny.

Just acquired a new customer? That's awesome news! Penny allows you to add those customers and record their orders. Penny will create tasks for you to Check-in with your customers after they receive their orders. Connect with them before their next order and even get Reminders before their next purchase!

How to Add a Customer

1 - Select Add on the lower left of the app 📱 OR select Contacts from the web version. 💻

2 - Select Add a Contact on the app 📱 OR select Add then Add a Contact from the web version. 💻

3 - Fill out the required fields

4 - Type the Customer's First Name and Last Name

5 - Type any relevant contact details.

6 - Select Create

7 - Select Customer

8 - Select Categorize on the app 📱 OR Save on the web version 💻

9 - Select the date when your Customer placed an order

10 - Select the order frequency (Could be weekly, monthly, etc.)

11 - Select Next

12 - Type the name of the product/products that your customer ordered

13 - Select + to save the product

14 - Select Next

15 - Add any notes or relevant tags to their profile. This is optional but important.

16 - Select Next on the app 📱 OR select Save on the web version 💻

17 - Review the dates of the next activities that Penny will create for you

18 - Select Looks Good!

That's it! 🎉


Create an Order for a Customer

1 - Login to the app 📱 OR sign in to the web version 💻

2 - Select More and Contacts on the mobile app 📱 OR Select "contacts" from the left-hand menu options on the web 💻

3 - Type the name of your Customer in the Search box

4 - Select your Customer's name from the results.

5 - Select the "Activity" tab from the Customer Profile.

6 - Select Order

7 - Select the date when your customer placed their order. You can input past and future orders.

8 - Select the frequency of their order. For example, do they order weekly, monthly, or yearly?

9 - Select "Next".

10 - Type in the name of the product/s that your customer ordered.
11 - Select the "➕" symbol to the left of the type space to enter.

12 - Select "Next" after you have entered all the products ordered.

🌶️ Hot Tip 🌶️ Any products you have saved in past orders will generate in a dropdown. Simply search for the name of the product and select it when it appears!

13 - Add any notes or tags to the Customer's profile. To learn more about tags, click this article here 👈

14 - Select "Save".

15 - Penny will generate a task list based on all your answers. Review it and ensure the dates make sense to you.

16 - Once you're all set, click "Looks Good!" and the task list will be added to their Profile Card under the Activity tab.

🌶️ Hot Tip 🌶️ You can see all the products that your customer ever ordered under their 'Order" details in the "Activity" tab, or under the "Tags" tab highlighted in GREY. Like this 👇
